A new ladies Sunday School class is starting August 12th at 9:30 in room 201 upstairs. It is called the “Amazing Collection” which is a video and discussion Bible study taught sequentially book by book. It’s an outstanding study to teach and encourage women in their roles as women, wives, and mothers and covers all 66 books of the bible to get the “big picture”. Both new believers and seasoned students find the study to be life changing...Please contact Peggy Corsello by July 25th so we can order workbooks.
Wednesday Evening Services will resume August 1st.
Meals begin at 5:30 and classes begin at 6:30.
Our Thursday morning Bible Study breakfast group that meets at Family Traditions will resume meeting August 2nd at 7:30.
August 2—Preschool Open House
Antioch Preschool will have open house between 10:00-12:00. Our first day of preschool will be August 6. Classes meet Monday-Thursday from 9:00-1:00. If you or someone you know is interested, please call Bonnita at 770-475-8553 or drop by our open house.
Sunday, August 5th will be a Family Sunday where the whole family will worship together in the sanctuary. There will be infant and toddler nurseries; however all kids Pre-K aged and above will be worshipping in the sanctuary.
August 5—Heritage Day
This will be a special day here at Antioch. In both the 8:15 and the 10:30 services, we will be talking about our past, our present, and the future. Also, during the Sunday School hour (9:30) we will have some special singing that everyone will enjoy...all adult Sunday School classes are asked to meet in the sanctuary for the singing. There will be a carry-in lunch following our 10:30 service. We are asking everyone to please bring some food items—we’ll put it all together and enjoy a feast. We will not have evening services on Heritage Day.
August 12—Promotion Sunday
As the school year begins, it is time for our kids to move up to their coordinating age/grade level here at church. On this Sunday, our kids are invited to join their new groups. Our Pre-K aged class meets downstairs in room G-04, elementary aged kids meet in the fellowship hall, and our middle and high school group meets in the Teen Center. This includes Sunday School classes as well. Please see Amber Smith, Bruce, or Rick with any questions.
A special note for parents of rising Kindergarteners:
Parents, if you bring your children to the 8:15 service, remember that they should come to the back of the sanctuary when indicated by the message on the large screen. It usually is seen just after the offering prayer. Adults will then escort the children downstairs to Recharged. After Recharged, your children will be taken to Sunday School. The kids can be signed out and picked up in the fellowship hall. Parents who come to the 8:15 service are asked to use the clipboard found at the door to the upstairs toddler room to sign their children in.
9:30 & 10:30 Service - Parents should bring their children to the fellowship hall Sign Up Table. There, you can check your kids in and also receive information about upcoming events. Your children can be signed out at that same table at the conclusion of the 10:30 service.
We would like to start a few new cook teams, or add a few new members to those cook teams already in place. These groups typically cook twice during a season (Aug-Dec and Jan-May). Thank you for considering serving in this area. If interested, please contact the church office.
